MERIKA

Since 2002, MERIKA has been the platform of Erik Bruun Bindslev, operating at the frontier of sustainable finance, regenerative agriculture, and climate innovation.

MISSION

To design and structure regenerative business and investment models that unlock systemic transformation. MERIKA’s mission is to align prosperity with planetary health, enabling investors, companies, and governments to thrive in an era defined by complexity, interdependence, and ecological limits.

APPROACH

  • Capital Structuring: Design of blended-finance vehicles, private equity models, and institutional investment strategies for regenerative agriculture, aquaculture, and nature-based solutions.

  • Systems Navigation: Helping multinationals, family offices, and NGOs manage complexity across the global value chain — from production to consumption, across jurisdictions and cultures.

  • Multi-Stakeholder Engagement: Building coalitions of investors, corporates, NGOs, and governments to de-risk and scale regenerative solutions.

  • Strategic Repositioning: Guiding organisations to transition from extractive to regenerative models — increasing resilience, impact, and long-term profitability.

DEEP EXPERIENCE

  • Global Food Value Chain: From global shipping (J. Lauritzen) to CPG (Arla Foods), and through two decades founding and building mission-led brands (Danone, Duchy Originals, Daylesford Organic, Linda McCartney Foods, Wyse Organics, Rebel Kitchen, Karma Cola), Erik brings a rare 360° understanding of the food system. He bridges upstream logistics, production, and finance with downstream markets and consumers.

  • Global & Cross-Cultural business: Experienced in working across Europe, the Americas and Asia — adept at navigating and building trust across-cultures, stakeholders, jurisdictions and business.

  • Proven Collaborations: Partnered with King Charles III on regenerative food, advised the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco on ocean solutions, and co-created with the McCartney Family the global Meat Free Monday campaign.

  • Catalyst for Capital & Scale: Operating Partner at Regenerate Asset Management, Advisor to ReOcean Monaco, and co-creator of The Savory Foundation in Denmark — a foundation structure designed to channel institutional capital into one of the world’s most ambitious grassland restoration and carbon programmes.

Erik Bruun Bindslev

Erik is the founder of MERIKA (est. 2002), now his portfolio platform for shaping the financial and operating models for a regenerative economy.

Current work includes being an Operating Partner at Regenerate Asset Management, investing in large-scale regenerative agriculture, and a Strategic Advisor to ReOcean Monaco, advancing regenerative aquaculture and ocean restoration.

Together with the Savory Institute, Erik has co-created The Savory Foundation in Denmark, driving one of the world’s most ambitious grassland restoration and carbon programmes from a commercial foundation structure designed to attract catalytic, institutional capital allocations.

He also advises governments, investors, and NGOs on structuring blended-finance vehicles and partnerships that align capital with nature-based solutions.

Erik works at the forefront of sustainable finance, regenerative agriculture, and climate innovation, collaborating with some of the world’s most influential leaders and organisations. He has worked alongside King Charles III to champion the transformative impact of regenerative foods and partnered with his client over 8 years, Paul, Stella and Mary McCartney to launch the global Meat Free Monday campaign in 2009. These efforts reflect Erik’s dedication to driving systemic change and pioneering solutions that align prosperity with planetary health.

Erik’s perspective is grounded in a deep understanding of the food value chain, from upstream logistics to downstream finance. He began his career in global shipping (J. Lauritzen) and consumer packaged goods (Arla Foods) before spending two decades founding, building and advising mission-led food companies such as Danone, Duchy Originals, Daylesford Organic, Wyse Organic, Rebel Kitchen, Linda McCartney Foods, and Karma Cola.

Erik holds an MBA from École des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris & Buenos Aires) and a BA in International Business from Niels Brock Copenhagen Business School.
